Time to Go Home

As it turned out, we needed to get home a day earlier than originally planned. Because I had our site reserved for another day, we took our time getting ready to go in the afternoon. As we were hooking our car up to the tow-bar I saw a truck camper at the entrance kiosk.

A man came over from the camper to where we were and explained that he was trying to take our campsite but the ranger wouldn't let him because we hadn't released it yet. I told the man that we had to go home early so it was okay to take our campsite. I suggested that the man tell the ranger that I had given my site to him and that the ranger should not charge him for the campsite as it was already paid for. The man tried to offer to pay me for the site, but I told him that he didn't need to reimburse me. It felt good to let the man have our site.

Our trip home was uneventful as we retraced the route we used a few days before to get to Half Moon Bay. Our motorhome climbed the incline very nicely getting us to the pass where I had to activate the exhaust brake as we began our descent toward I-280. We left camp early enough that I missed driving in commute traffic.

Even though our trip was short in duration, we had a great time. Lynn and I are already looking forward to going back to Half Moon Bay in our motorhome.
