Our adventure begins
Lynn and I went on a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands, we started in Honolulu. After touring
Pearl Harbor it was noticed that there was a strange looking vessel floating a short distance
away from the shore. This unusual looking watercraft turned out to be a submarine. This was
not a military sub, it was a U-boat that would take on civilian passengers and dive down for
an underwater cruise.

Unlike the semi-submersible ride we took in the Caribbean, this vessel was a true submersible.
I was fascinated with the idea of being able to truly go under the sea. I could see that there
was a boat that shuttled people from a shore side dock out to the submarine. I felt that we
could get information about the submarine adventure for a future trip to Hawaii.
Our cruise would take us around four of the Hawaiian Islands – Oahu – Maui –
Hawaii – Kauai. We had several opportunities to take excursion trips on each island. One
of my favorites was, a movie-location tour, on the island of Kauai. However, one of the best
excursions was a cruise beneath the sea in a submarine located off the coast of Kona on the
Big Island.
