The Jaunting Cart on Mackinac Island is now shown as historical. However, Patrick
has moved it to Auburn, California. Lynn and I enjoyed visiting it on Mackinac Island,
so I know the new location will be just as fun. Do yourself a favor when in the area
of Auburn and visit the new location.

The Jaunting Cart
In June 2018, Lynn and I went on a small-ship cruise that took us from New York City to Chicago via the Hudson River, the Erie Canal and four of the Great Lakes. A highlight of the trip was getting to see Patrick McManus on Mackinac Island where he owns a very nice gift shop (The Jaunting Car at 7429 Market St.) featuring gifts from Ireland, Scotland and England. It was nice to see quality products that were made somewhere (Ireland, Scotland and England) other than China. Patrick and I worked together at Varian Medical Systems for a few years. He was one of the best people I worked with during my 41 years with Varian. I hadn't seen Patrick for about 12 years.
If you ever have an opportunity to visit Mackinac Island, do yourself a favor and visit The Jaunting Cart, a wee bit of Ireland on Mackinac Island. Tell Patrick that Maury sent you.
